Job Description

About the Role - A Singapore-based family is seeking a full-time, non-live-in private cook to prepare fresh, healthy, gluten-free meals daily. In addition, the cook will need to prepare satisfying vegetarian food alongside non-vegetarian dishes. This is a home-cooking role where cleanliness, food safety, and wholesome everyday cooking matter far more than elaborate presentation. Key Responsibilities: • Cook two fresh services a day from Monday to Friday — lunch (served 11:00am) and dinner (served 5:00pm) • Working hours: Monday to Friday; 9am to 6.30pm • Prepare and cook strictly gluten-free, vegetarian meals and non-vegetarian dishes for the family — managing parallel menus without cross-contamination • Build balanced, nutritionally sound menus with adequate protein in vegetarian meals, and age-appropriate nutrition for children. • Plan varied weekly menus around the family’s dietary preferences and clean-eating standards • Prepare child-friendly versions of meals that are still healthy and appealing. • Use the midday window between services to batch-preparation and store meals efficiently • Source and shop for groceries to the family’s standards • Maintain an immaculate kitchen: surfaces, equipment, fridge, and pantry organised and hygienic at all times • Manage food storage, labelling, rotation, and waste responsibly • Coordinate respectfully with other household staff • Accommodate evolving preferences and feedback without friction Job Requirements: • Confident cooking vegetarian food and ability to build varied, satisfying, protein-adequate vegetarian meals, not just salads and sides • Proven experience cooking healthy, wholesome food; gluten-free cooking experience strongly preferred • Preferably someone with a nutrition background (a “semi-nutritionist” who understands balanced meals, not just recipes). • Solid, demonstrable understanding of gluten cross-contamination and how to prevent it • Strong food-hygiene knowledge with WSQ Food Safety certification • Disciplined with high personal and kitchen hygiene standards • Reliable, punctual, discreet, and trustworthy in a private home • Able to plan menus and work independently • Clear communicator; takes direction and feedback well
