Job Responsibilities

We are looking for a Product Engineer to join our client's Singapore-based team. You will be responsible for the development and maintenance of backend systems that power overseas operations, with a focus on building high-performance, highly available distributed systems capable of handling cross-regional, high-concurrency workloads.

What You'll Be Doing

• Participate in technology selection and architectural design of core server-side modules
• Build and maintain scalable backend infrastructure for international product lines
• Drive performance tuning and system optimisation under high-concurrency, low-latency requirements
• Collaborate closely with product, operations, frontend, and QA teams across globally distributed time zones
• Take end-to-end ownership of complex business modules and contribute to continuous system improvement

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science or a related discipline
• 2+ years of backend development experience; experience with international or overseas user-facing products is a plus
• Proficient in Java or Go, with strong code design fundamentals and disciplined engineering standards
• Deep understanding of distributed systems and microservices architecture, including service governance, traffic routing, observability, and fault tolerance
• Strong working knowledge of MySQL, Redis, RocketMQ/Kafka, and ElasticSearch — not just usage, but underlying principles and behaviour under load
• Experience designing and optimising high-concurrency systems
• Strong cross-team communication skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, cross-cultural environment
