Project Engineer (Progression to Assistant Project Manager / Main Contractor)

About the Company

Our client is a BCA-registered General Builder with a strong track record in delivering public housing, upgrading, and building projects across Singapore.

As part of their growing project team, they are seeking a driven Project Engineer who is ready to take the next step in their career — gaining broader project exposure and progressing towards an Assistant Project Manager role.

This position offers structured mentorship, hands-on project involvement, and clear career development within a main contractor environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support Project Managers in planning, coordination, and execution of construction works from start to completion.

• Coordinate with subcontractors, consultants, and suppliers to ensure works meet project schedules and specifications.

• Review construction drawings, shop drawings, and method statements for compliance and constructability.

• Monitor site progress, quality, and safety performance, ensuring smooth daily operations.

• Assist in project reporting, cost monitoring, and variation tracking.

• Conduct site inspections and help resolve technical and site-related issues.

• Participate in project meetings and contribute to planning and coordination discussions.

• Gradually take on increased responsibilities aligned with project management functions.
  

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Building, Construction Management, or related discipline.

• 2–3 years of experience as a Project Engineer / Site Engineer with a main contractor preferred.

• Familiar with construction drawings, coordination processes, and site execution workflow.

• Basic understanding of BCA regulations, safety requirements, and construction practices.

• Strong coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.

• Motivated to grow into a project leadership or management role.

• Willing to work on-site in a fast-paced construction environment.
