QA/QC Engineer – Mechanical (Rotating Equipment)

Job Summary

We are seeking a QA/QC Engineer – Mechanical (Rotating Equipment) to support quality assurance and inspection activities for rotating equipment within oil & gas EPC projects. The role will oversee vendor manufacturing processes from procurement to shipment, ensuring compliance with project specifications, international standards, and quality management requirements.

The successful candidate will coordinate with vendors, inspection teams, and project stakeholders to manage inspections, documentation reviews, and quality control activities throughout the manufacturing lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Support procurement and manufacturing quality activities for rotating equipment such as compressors, pumps, and diesel generators.

• Review vendor documentation including Inspection Test Plans (ITP), manufacturing procedures, and FAT procedures.

• Participate in Kick-Off Meetings (KOM) and ensure vendors understand project quality requirements.

• Coordinate and organize Pre-Inspection Meetings (PIM) and ensure inspection readiness.

• Communicate with vendors and project stakeholders to resolve technical or quality-related issues.

• Coordinate with third-party inspection teams for vendor inspections.

• Review inspection reports and ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.

• Issue and track Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) and follow up on corrective actions.

• Monitor vendor manufacturing progress and ensure timely resolution of quality issues.

• Review Manufacturer Record Books (MRB) and as-built documentation before shipment.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline.

Experience

• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in quality inspection or manufacturing support related to rotating equipment.

• Experience in oil & gas, offshore, or EPC projects will be an advantage.

Technical Knowledge

• Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems.

• Familiarity with international codes and standards such as API 610, API 617, API 618, API 619, API 676.

Certifications (Preferred)

• CSWIP 3.1

• AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)

• International Welding Engineer (IWE)

• NDT certification
