Principal Engineer(Railway Power System)

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and technically competent Project Engineer to support ongoing metro power supply system projects in Singapore.

This role covers engineering design, procurement, and construction coordination of power supply and distribution systems, ensuring compliance with technical, safety, quality, and schedule requirements.

The position offers exposure to major rail infrastructure projects and collaboration with international and multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

Site Installation & Supervision

• Supervise High Voltage (HV) electrical installation works for railway infrastructure projects.
• Oversee works related to substations, power distribution systems, switchgear, transformers and HV cable installation where applicable.
• Ensure works are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications and safety procedures.

Project Monitoring & Progress Tracking

• Monitor site activities and track progress against project schedule.
• Prepare daily and weekly progress updates for management review.
• Identify potential site issues and coordinate timely resolution.

Site Coordination

• Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, consultants and relevant stakeholders to ensure smooth site operations.
• Arrange site activities, manpower planning and material delivery.
• Attend site meetings and technical discussions as required.

Safety & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) regulations and project safety standards.
• Conduct regular site inspections and ensure proper housekeeping and safe work practices.

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain proper site records, reports and technical documentation.
• Support testing & commissioning activities and project handover.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• 5–8 years of relevant experience in electrical or infrastructure projects.
• Exposure to High Voltage (HV) systems will be an advantage.
• Familiar with site-based project environment.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Able to work independently and under tight project timelines.
