Job Description

What The Role Is As an Education and Career Guidance (ECG) Counsellor or Education and Career Coach (ECC), your primary role is to support students and educators in secondary schools/ junior colleges/ centralised institution or polytechnics/ Institute of Technical Education (ITE) to provide quality Education and Career Guidance. What You Will Be Working On • Provide ECG Counselling • Provide individual/ group counselling/ coaching to help students explore their strengths, interests, aspirations, education and career pathways, including admissions and employment facilitation, to support their transition across education levels or from school to work. • Conduct ECG workshops for targeted students. • Support the Delivery of ECG Curriculum • Co-conduct ECG lessons and develop ECG resources for students. • Partner schools/ institutions to organise ECG Student Development Experiences such as ECG talks/ fairs and industry experiences for students. • Build Capacity of Educators • Provide training and resources to enhance educators’ ECG advising capacity and organise platforms for the sharing of labour market information, latest industry trends and up-to-date polytechnics, ITE and Institutes of Higher Learning (IHL) course information. • Engage educators to provide inputs on students’ ECG needs and synergise ECG efforts and resources. • Establish Strong Partnerships • Network and build partnerships with different stakeholders (e.g. Alumni, industries, education institutions), to plan and implement ECG experiences for students. • Collaborate with schools, polytechnics, ITE, IHLs and government agencies to facilitate students’ transition to post-secondary/ tertiary institutions and into the workforce. • Plan and organise ECG outreach programmes for parents. What We Are Looking For • At least 5 years of working experience • Good industry knowledge and/ or experience in education and career counselling would be an advantage • Passion for working with young people, especially in guiding them on their education and career pathways • Open-minded, flexible and exhibit cultural sensitivity in managing different profiles of stakeholders • A positive and encouraging nature • Excellent interpersonal, communication and networking skills • Strong collaborative and time management skills • Ability to develop systems and structures As part of the processing of your application, you may be required to undergo a medical examination that will be fully paid by MOE.
