Network Engineer

Key Responsibilities

1. Network Design & Implementation

• Design and deploy enterprise-level LAN/WAN/WLAN solutions.

• Configure and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.

• Implement network segmentation, VLANs, routing protocols, and redundancy mechanisms.

• Prepare High-Level and Low-Level Design (HLD/LLD) documentation.

2. Network Administration & Support

• Monitor network performance and ensure high availability (99.9%+ uptime).

• Troubleshoot complex network issues (L2/L3).

• Perform firmware upgrades, patching, and configuration backups.

• Handle incident management and root cause analysis (RCA).

3. Security & Compliance

• Implement firewall policies (Fortinet, Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, etc.).

• Configure VPNs (IPSec, SSL VPN).

• Manage IDS/IPS and network security appliances.

• Ensure compliance with security standards and best practices.

4. Routing & Switching

• Configure routing protocols such as:

  • OSPF

  • BGP

  • EIGRP

• Implement STP, VLANs, trunking, and inter-VLAN routing.

• Manage MPLS and SD-WAN environments.

5. Cloud & Hybrid Networking (If Applicable)

• Configure networking in AWS / Azure / GCP.

• Manage VPC, Subnets, Route Tables, NAT Gateways.

• Establish site-to-site and cloud VPN connectivity.

6. Documentation & Stakeholder Coordination

• Maintain network diagrams and documentation.

• Work with vendors and ISPs for link provisioning.

• Support audits and compliance checks.

• Participate in change management processes.

Required Technical Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with:

  • Cisco / Juniper / Aruba / Fortinet devices

• Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NAT

• Experience with routing & switching protocols

• Firewall and VPN configuration experience

• Network monitoring tools (PRTG, SolarWinds, Nagios)

• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills

Preferred Certifications

• CCNA / CCNP (Preferred)

• Fortinet NSE Certification

• Juniper JNCIA/JNCIS

• ITIL (Optional)

Educational Qualification

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science / IT / Electronics & Communication or related field.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 8+ years of experience in network administration

• Experience in enterprise or data center environments

• Experience supporting 500+ user environments preferred
