Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Splunk Dashboard & Reporting Development

  • Design, develop, and customize advanced Splunk dashboards to support real-time operational monitoring and business insights.

  • Build enterprise-grade reports and dashboards using Splunk Search Processing Language (SPL) and dashboard frameworks.

  • Create dashboards using both inline searches and scheduled searches, ensuring optimal performance.

Search & Knowledge Object Management

  • Develop complex Splunk queries leveraging:

    • Search commands

    • Lookups

    • KV Store objects

  • Create and manage Splunk knowledge objects including:

    • Field Aliases

    • Calculated Fields

    • Field Extractions

    • Tags and Event Types

    • Workflow Actions

    • Macros

Monitoring & Alerting Solutions

  • Provide end-to-end monitoring and alerting solutions for applications and infrastructure across large-scale environments.

  • Configure and manage:

    • Alerts

    • Scheduled Reports

    • Alert Thresholds and Notifications

  • Implement alert tuning to reduce noise and improve incident response effectiveness.

Dashboard Framework & Visualization

  • Develop dashboards and reports using Splunk XML and visualization components.

  • Build and configure multiple chart types and time-series visualizations using:

    • Timechart attributes (span, bins)

    • Statistical aggregations

    • Trend and anomaly reporting

Report Sharing & Access Management

  • Save, share, and configure reports and dashboards across teams and stakeholders.

  • Manage report visibility, editing rights, and distribution through Splunk’s sharing and publishing mechanisms.

Splunk Administration & App Management

  • Support Splunk app creation and customization.

  • Manage Splunk user administration including:

    • Creating users

    • Defining roles

    • Assigning permissions to knowledge objects

  • Ensure governance of role-based access control (RBAC) across Splunk environments.

Required Skills & Expertise

  • Strong experience in Splunk Enterprise Dashboarding and Reporting

  • Advanced proficiency in Splunk SPL search commands

  • Hands-on experience with:

    • Lookups and KV Store

    • Field extractions and transformations

    • Alerts and scheduled reporting

  • Expertise in creating dashboards using XML-based Splunk framework

  • Experience delivering monitoring and alerting solutions at enterprise scale

  • Knowledge of Splunk security model, apps, and role-based permissions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in production monitoring for banking, financial services, or regulated industries

  • Exposure to ITSM/Incident Management integrations

  • Understanding of observability practices (APM, logging, metrics, alerting)
