Lead Solutions Architect – Financial Services

We are partnering with a global technology services organisation to appoint a lead Solutions Architect to support complex Financial Services engagements across banking, capital markets, and insurance. This role sits at the intersection of solution design, client advisory, and pre-sales, with a strong emphasis on enterprise applications and platform modernisation.

You will work closely with business stakeholders, sales leaders, and delivery teams to shape application-led solutions that address regulatory, operational, and scalability requirements within large financial institutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as a senior solution authority for FSI application-centric engagements, supporting both pre-sales and early delivery phases

• Partner with sales and account teams to translate client requirements into clear, outcome-driven solution architectures

• Design end-to-end application solutions across areas such as core banking platforms, digital channels, payments, integration, middleware, and enterprise systems

• Lead technical discussions, solution workshops, and architecture reviews with senior client stakeholders

• Develop solution artefacts including architecture diagrams, proposals, estimates, and responses to RFPs/RFIs

• Balance functional, non-functional, security, and regulatory considerations in solution design

• Collaborate with delivery and engineering teams to ensure architectural intent is maintained through execution

• Provide thought leadership on application modernisation, legacy transformation, and platform optimisation

• Support selective cloud and hybrid architecture discussions where relevant to application strategy

Requirements

• Proven experience in a Solutions Architect or Technical Pre-Sales role within the Financial Services sector

• Strong background in enterprise applications rather than infrastructure-only or cloud-only roles

• Hands-on understanding of banking or insurance systems, digital platforms, and enterprise integration patterns

• Experience supporting pre-sales activities, including client presentations, solution shaping, and commercial discussions

• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences

• Familiarity with modern application architectures (e.g. microservices, APIs, event-driven systems)

• Working knowledge of cloud platforms and hybrid environments is beneficial but not mandatory

• Comfortable operating in multi-stakeholder, matrix environments with senior client exposure
