Job Description

Location: Novena Job Category: Allied Health Posting Date: 6 Apr 2026 Job Responsibilities CLINICAL • To utilize appropriate assessment tools to evaluate patients’ performance components affecting their participation in self-care, work, and leisure activities. • To formulate appropriate treatment plans and goals within the inpatient stay and to re-evaluate and modify the treatment plan as required. • To work with multi-disciplinary teams in Ren Ci Hospital (RCH), which includes attending weekly case management meetings, participating in discharge planning in consultation with the patients, their families, and other external agencies involved. • To maintain an accurate and timely patient record by documenting in patients’ medical case notes after attending to the patients. • To instruct and supervise occupational therapists and/or Therapy Aides in occupational therapy interventions for patients. PROFESSIONAL • To practice Occupational Therapy in accordance to the Code of Professional Conduct defined by the Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC). • To maintain absolute confidentiality in matters pertaining to the organization, department, and patients. Confidentiality of the patients’ records is to be always maintained for the privacy of the patients. • To co-present in workshops and seminars. • To supervise and appraise Occupational Therapists, and Therapy Aides. • To supervise undergraduate occupational therapy students, foreign trained Occupational Therapists awaiting qualifying examinations and Occupational Therapists under provisional registration. • To liaise with external services, statutory bodies and other Voluntary Welfare Organisations as appropriate. • To supervise post-graduate Occupational Therapy students if any. • To lead research projects, and to set clinical standards. • To initiate and coordinate new therapy programs. Other duties include administrative duties, incident reporting and tasks or projects assigned by the Reporting Officer or Head of Department. Job Requirements • Degree in Occupational Therapy (recognized by AHPC). • Post-graduate qualification or certification in treatment techniques is an advantage. • Registered with the Singapore AHPC with valid practicing certificate. • Highly encouraged to be a member of the Singapore Association of Occupational Therapist (SAOT). • At least 3 - 5 years of working experience in the relevant field. • Experience in a geriatric community hospital, long term care or nursing home setting will be an advantage. • Mature and good team player. • Able to serve those patients and residents in need, regardless of race, nationality, religious or social status. • Compassionate and able to relate well to patients and residents of RCH. • Caring, understanding, patient and empathetic. • Able to cooperate with all colleagues towards the total healthcare of the community. • Able to motivate and develop staff. • Able to coordinate daily operations within the department. • Able to promote a collegial work environment and encourage effective teamwork. • The Occupational Therapist post is a rotational post within the various settings in Ren Ci Hospital (RCH), namely Community Hospital (CH), Nursing Home (NH), and Senior Care Centre (SCC).
