Data Engineer (Data Programme)

Role Overview

As a Data Engineer within the Data Programme, you will be responsible for designing, building, and scaling robust data infrastructure to support advanced analytics, data science, and machine learning use cases.

You will partner closely with business and product stakeholders to deliver high-impact data solutions that enable digital transformation initiatives across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end design and development of data architecture, including databases, backend systems, DevOps processes, and cloud infrastructure
• Build and maintain scalable data platforms, including ETL pipelines, data warehouses, and analytics tooling
• Develop cloud-native solutions with strong emphasis on scalability, security, and reusability
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Data Scientists, and cross-functional stakeholders to translate business needs into effective data solutions
• Ensure reliability, performance, and maintainability of data systems through best engineering practices

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
• Strong experience in data engineering, including database systems, backend development, and infrastructure design
• Proven track record in building and managing production-grade data pipelines and data platforms
• Familiarity with cloud environments and modern data stack technologies
• Exposure to frontend development is an advantage
• Experience supporting data science or machine learning workflows is a plus
• Strong communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Motivated by working on impactful projects with meaningful outcomes
