Job Description
Equipment Maintenance
Roles & Responsibilities:
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems independently.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems including motors, control circuits, contactors, sensors, and switches.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical faults in gearboxes, pneumatic systems, belts, bearings, rotating equipment, and basic hydraulic systems.
• Perform mechanical adjustments, component replacement, and minor repair work to restore equipment operation.
• Diagnose basic to intermediate equipment faults and implement appropriate corrective actions. Escalate complex or system-level issues to the Shift Leader, Senior Technicians, or Supervisor.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
• Perform basic PLC fault checking (I/O status monitoring, alarm review, and fault reset only; no program modification).
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and breakdown reports in CMMS.
• Monitor SCADA system alarms and perform basic troubleshooting actions within assigned authority.
• Perform basic troubleshooting of PLC interfaces, K-Tron feeder systems, and other production equipment software within established procedures.
• Escalate complex programming or system configuration issues to the Technician 3 (Shift Leader), Senior Technicians, or the Supervisor.
Facility Upkeep
• Conduct regular inspections of facility systems to identify maintenance needs and safety hazards.
• Perform basic to intermediate facility repairs and adjustments.
• Coordinate with Production to restore equipment operation and minimize downtime during breakdowns.
Safety And Compliance
• Adhere strictly to safety protocols, company procedures, and regulatory requirements while performing maintenance activities.
• Follow LOTO procedures before conducting maintenance work.
• Conduct basic Root Cause Analysis (5 Why) for recurring equipment issues.
• Maintain and promote 5S standards within assigned work areas and support 5S improvement activities.
Equipment Installation And Calibration
• Assist in installation and setup of new equipment and machinery.
• Support basic to intermediate process modification and improvement projects.
• Perform basic calibration and functional checks after repair work.
Inventory Management
• Maintain organized inventory of spare parts, tools, and supplies for assigned tasks.
• Recommend spare part replacement when necessary.
Collaboration And Communication
• Collaborate with maintenance team members to resolve equipment issues.
• Communicate maintenance status, breakdown analysis, and repair updates to the Supervisor.
• Provide guidance to Maintenance Technician 1 when required.
Training And Development
• Provide basic guidance and on-the-job training to new or junior technicians when required.
• Continuously upgrade technical skills related to electrical and mechanical systems.
Work Planning
• Plan and organize assigned maintenance tasks to ensure efficient execution.
• Prepare required tools, spare parts, and documentation before commencing work.
• Coordinate repair timing with Production to minimize operational disruption.
Job Requirements
• Diploma or equivalent technical qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or related field preferred.
• 2–5 years maintenance experience in manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience in electrical and mechanical troubleshooting.
• Equivalent overseas qualifications will be considered.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
• Working knowledge of mechanical systems including gearboxes, bearings, rotating equipment, pneumatic and basic hydraulic systems.
• Basic PLC troubleshooting knowledge.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations.
• Independent and strong problem-solving mindset.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.
• Willing to learn and proactive work attitude.
• Ability to work on a rotating shift schedule as assigned, including occasional normal office hours based on operational needs.
• Ability to support on-call duty and emergency breakdown response when necessary.
• Ability to perform overtime work when assigned based on operational requirements.
