Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
• Breakdown Response & Repair
• Respond independently to machine breakdowns during shift
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults
• Troubleshoot motors, sensors, relays, contactors, switches
• Repair gearboxes, bearings, belts, pneumatic and basic hydraulic systems
• Restore equipment operation safely and efficiently
• Perform basic PLC fault checking (I/O status, alarm review, reset only — no program modification)
• Monitor SCADA alarms and take corrective action within defined scope
• Escalate complex, repeated, or system-level issues immediately to Technician 3, Senior Technician, or Supervisor
• Perform basic alignment work (belt alignment, coupling alignment) when required
• Preventive Maintenance Execution
• Perform preventive maintenance tasks independently according to schedule
• Inspect machine condition and identify early abnormalities
• Record all maintenance and breakdown activities accurately in CMMS
• Ensure proper documentation of repair actions and spare part usage
• Equipment & Process Understanding
• Understand basic machine operation and production process flow
• Learn extruder, upstream, and downstream equipment basics
• Learn basic FFS bagging system and HCU system operation
• Support troubleshooting by linking machine faults with process conditions
• Safety & Compliance
• Follow all safety procedures and LOTO requirements strictly
• Ensure safe working conditions during maintenance work
• Maintain and follow 5S standards in work area
• Report unsafe conditions immediately
• Inventory & Work Discipline
• Use spare parts properly and avoid unnecessary waste
• Return unused parts and maintain organized work area
• Inform Supervisor when spare parts require replacement
• Continuous Improvement & Skill Development
• Identify recurring breakdown issues and report improvement suggestions
• Participate in Kaizen and continuous improvement activities
• Improve troubleshooting skills in mechanical and electrical systems
• Learn basic PLC, SCADA, motor drive, inverter, and heater troubleshooting
• Learn production process and equipment interaction
• Continue improving troubleshooting skills for K-Tron feeder systems under guidance
• Learn basic control system troubleshooting (PLC signals, SCADA alarms, system interaction)
• Develop understanding of feeder operation, dosing control, and material handling process
• Work towards handling maintenance tasks independently with minimal support
• Team Collaboration
• Support Technician 1 in daily work
• Communicate breakdown status clearly to Technician 3 or Supervisor
• Maintain teamwork during breakdown and maintenance activities
• Additional Responsibilities
• Perform maintenance tasks assigned within competency level
• Support breakdown, PM, and improvement work when required
• Ensure all work complies with safety rules and company procedures
Job Requirements
Education Qualifications & Work Experience
• Diploma / ITE / NITEC in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or related field
• 2–5 years maintenance experience in manufacturing environment
• Equivalent experience will be considered
Specific Knowledge
• Mechanical systems (gearbox, bearing, belt, pneumatic systems)
• Basic electrical troubleshooting
• Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings (basic level)
• Basic PLC and SCADA understanding (no programming)
• Basic understanding of production process and equipment interaction

Safety Certification Requirement
