AWS DevOps Engineer / Cloud Automation Engineer | Contract

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled AWS DevOps Engineer to design, build, and optimize scalable, secure, and resilient cloud solutions. This role focuses on leveraging Amazon Web Services (AWS) to architect automation frameworks, enhance system reliability, and improve cloud cost and compliance visibility through dashboards and monitoring tools.

The ideal candidate will play a key role in building infrastructure-as-code solutions, continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, and cloud-native services. You will work closely with engineering and business stakeholders to deliver innovative automation solutions that improve operational efficiency, security, and user experience in a cloud environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement automated cloud infrastructure solutions using infrastructure-as-code and configuration management tools.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support automated testing, integration, and deployment processes.
• Architect scalable, fault-tolerant systems using AWS cloud services and APIs.
• Develop automation tools and scripts using Python or Java to support infrastructure, operations, and integrations.
• Implement security monitoring, alerting, and automated remediation mechanisms.
• Build dashboards and reporting tools to provide insights on cost optimization, compliance, and system performance.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and development teams to gather requirements and design effective automation solutions.
• Create proof of concepts (POCs) and prototypes to validate new tools and approaches.
• Monitor system performance, logs, and incidents, and implement automation for faster resolution.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), including deploying and managing cloud infrastructure.
• Proven experience in DevOps, cloud engineering, or site reliability engineering (SRE) roles.
• Experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, CircleCI, or similar.
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Proficiency in Python or Java for automation and scripting.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with serverless architectures and cloud-native design patterns.
• Good understanding of monitoring, logging, and incident response automation.
• Experience implementing security controls and compliance automation in cloud environments.
• Knowledge of DevOps practices, Agile methodologies, and site reliability engineering principles.
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional or equivalent certification.
