Key Responsibilities:

Manage and maintain MariaDB/MySQL databases, ensuring their performance, security, and availability.
Configure and administer advanced setups, including Master-Slave replication, Multi-Master replication, high availability, and disaster recovery solutions.
Set up and provision MariaDB/MySQL instances for production, UAT, and development environments.
Perform database backups, point-in-time recovery, and other routine maintenance tasks.
Optimize and fine-tune SQL statements for better performance.
Write and maintain Linux shell scripts for database automation and maintenance.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to recommend architecture/design improvements for optimal database performance.
Prepare and maintain technical documentation and specifications.
Monitor and resolve issues to ensure uninterrupted database services.
Stay up to date with industry best practices and implement de-facto standards in MariaDB/MySQL management.

Qualifications & Skills:

Degree in Computer Engineering or related discipline.
Minimum 4 years of experience as a MariaDB/MySQL Database Administrator in the banking or financial sector.
Solid understanding of MySQL/MariaDB storage engines, such as InnoDB and MyISAM.
Proficiency in writing SQL queries and optimizing database performance.
Solid experience in Linux operating systems (such as RedHat) and shell scripting.
Knowledge of database replication, high availability, and disaster recovery setups.
Familiarity with other databases such as PostgreSQL, EDB, or MS SQL is a plus.
Understanding of MySQL/MariaDB limitations and their practical workarounds.
Excellent communication skills and ability to contribute to architectural decisions.
Willingness to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to support 24x7 database coverage.
Highly coachable and eager to learn new technologies and methodologies.
