Role Overview
On behalf of our client, we are seeking a technically proficient and commercially astute Project Sales Manager to support the expansion of their commercial project sales portfolio. The role focuses on physical security and Extra-Low Voltage (ELV) systems, including CCTV, Access Control, Intercom, and related smart building solutions.
This position plays a critical role in identifying and securing project opportunities, managing the tendering process, engaging with consultants and contractors, and supporting projects from early design stages through tender submission and contract award. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong technical understanding of security and ELV systems, with the ability to interpret specifications, develop system proposals, participate in technical discussions, and support projects during early implementation phases.
This role is best suited for a hands-on, project-oriented sales professional who is comfortable engaging multiple stakeholders across the full project lifecycle in a commercial environment.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development
- Identify and actively pursue new commercial project opportunities, including office developments, mixed-use developments, institutional buildings, and infrastructure projects.
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with consultants, developers, main contractors, and M&E contractors to promote the company’s security and ELV solutions.
- Engage proactively in early-stage project discussions and design development to position the company favourably for upcoming tenders.
Tender and Proposal Management
- Review consultant specifications and tender documentation relating to security and ELV systems.
- Develop technical proposals, solution concepts, and pricing strategies aligned with project requirements.
- Coordinate closely with internal teams to ensure timely submission of compliant and competitive tender proposals.
- Provide technical clarifications and responses during tender evaluation stages when required.
Technical Solution Development
- Develop appropriate system solutions based on project specifications and end-user requirements, including, Equipment selection, Basic system architecture, Solution configuration concepts
- Participate in technical discussions and provide clarifications to consultants and contractors as needed.
- Prepare technical proposals and submissions with minimal reliance on internal technical resources.
Site Engagement and Project Coordination
- Attend site walks, technical meetings, and coordination meetings with consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders when required.
- Assess site conditions, installation considerations, and project requirements to ensure proposed solutions are practical and aligned with project needs.
- While day-to-day project administration will be managed by the Project Coordinator, this role will continue to support customer engagement during the sales and early project stages and provide technical or contractual clarification when approached directly by customers.
- Work closely with the Project Coordinator to ensure that customer expectations, commitments made during the sales phase, and project requirements are clearly communicated to the project execution team.
Sales Pipeline and Opportunity Management
- Maintain an active and accurate pipeline of project opportunities throughout the sales cycle.
- Provide regular updates on tender status, anticipated project awards, and sales forecasts.
- Ensure accurate documentation of sales activities and project opportunity records.
Sales Team Guidance and Support
- Provide guidance and technical support to Sales Engineers in relation to project opportunities, tender preparation, and technical proposals.
- Share technical knowledge and project experience to support the development of junior team members.
- Assist Sales Engineers in engagements with consultants, contractors, and clients where necessary to ensure proposals and submissions meet both project and customer expectations.
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Building Services, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in project sales, technical sales, or project engineering, preferably within Security systems, ELV systems, Building technologies, M&E contracting
- Strong technical knowledge of: CCTV systems, Access control systems, Intercom systems, Network-based security systems
- Proven experience working with consultants, developers, and contractors in project-based environments.
- Ability to independently review technical specifications and prepare technical proposals.
- Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently in a project-driven environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
