Job Description

About the Role:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Cybersecurity Incident Management & Readiness Specialist to join our team. This role is pivotal in strengthening our organization's cybersecurity posture by developing comprehensive incident response playbooks, coordinating tabletop exercises, and driving continuous improvement in incident readiness. This position focuses on preparedness and strategic planning rather than direct operational incident response.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and update cybersecurity incident response playbooks and runbooks tailored to various threat scenarios.
  • Design and facilitate tabletop exercises and simulation drills to test and improve incident response capabilities across teams.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including IT, security operations, legal, communications, and business units to ensure alignment on incident readiness.
  • Analyze lessons learned from exercises and real incidents to recommend improvements in processes, policies, and training.
  • Support the development and delivery of cybersecurity awareness and incident response training programs.
  • Assist in defining incident management frameworks, standards, and best practices in line with industry regulations and organizational policies.
  • Monitor emerging cybersecurity threats and trends to update readiness strategies accordingly.
  • Document and report on readiness metrics, exercise outcomes, and improvement plans to senior leadership.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in cybersecurity incident management, readiness, or related roles.
  • Strong understanding of incident response frameworks (e.g., NIST, SANS, ISO 27035).
  • Experience developing incident response playbooks and conducting tabletop exercises.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, GIAC, or similar are a plus.
