Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Provide onsite support for Equinix data centres (SG2, SG3, SG4) including racking, stacking, cabling, and labelling of all network and IT equipment.
  • Perform commissioning and decommissioning of network devices and servers.
  • Conduct regular data centre walk-throughs for cooling, UPS, PDU, and overall environmental health checks.
  • Manage data centre asset inventory records for manufacturing plants, corporate sites, and co-location DCs.
  • Execute data centre deployment projects including CNF and JPAC implementations and changes.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot a wide range of Cisco devices including:
  1. Cisco switches: 2960, 3650, 3850, 9300, 9500, 4500x
  2. Cisco routers: ASR1001, ASR1002-HX
  3. Firewalls & security devices: Cisco Firepower 2130/2140/9300, Checkpoint
  4. Load balancers: F5
  5. Wireless controllers: Cisco 5520, 5508
  6. Packet broker devices: iXia
  • Perform Level 1 & Level 2 troubleshooting for all network devices within corporate and DC environments.
  • Upgrade firmware/IOS images on routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Conduct biweekly health checks, monitor device performance, and resolve critical alerts.
  • Provide onsite support for manufacturing plant network operations and corporate IT infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot LAN, wireless network, Avaya IP phone issues, network connectivity problems, and end-user support cases.
  • Perform inventory management, IT asset updates, and documentation.
  • Assist during outages, change windows, migrations, and upgrade activities.
  • Support ITSM processes including incident, change, and problem management (ServiceNow experience).
  • Prepare health check reports, utilization summaries (CPU, memory, interfaces), IOS upgrade documentation, and error reports.
  • Record technical issues, logs, and troubleshooting steps for audit and documentation purposes.
  • Vendor and Stakeholder Management
  • Coordinate with vendors, outsourcers, and internal network teams as part of troubleshooting and project activities.
  • Lead vendor technical staff during project phases and provide training when required.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in Data Centre and Network Engineering roles.
  • Master of Engineering (Communication Systems).
  • Bachelor of Engineering (Electronics & Communication Engineering).
  • Strong hands-on experience in Routing & Switching, Network Infrastructure, and Data Centre Support.
  • Proficiency in Cisco network devices: switches, routers, firewalls, WLCs.
  • Experience with tools such as: Putty, Wireshark, SolarWinds, NetScout, F5, iXia Packet Broker.
  • Experience in SD-WAN (Viptela, Silver Peak, Riverbed).
  • Experience in CISCO DNAC, endpoint testing.
  • Experience in monitoring tools and interpreting alerts.
  • System support knowledge: PC setup, NAS/FTP servers, antivirus, software installation.
  • CCNA certified.
  • Strong multitasking capability in high-pressure environments.
  • 24/7 onsite support experience,
  • Excellent coordination with vendors and stakeholders.
  • Good communication and training skills.
