Senior Data Protection & Backup Engineer (Enterprise Back up architecture, Cohesity, Netback up, Rubrik, Commvault, Veeam, Vmware, Storage & Cloud, AWS)

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage enterprise-grade data protection, backup, and storage solutions
• Administer and optimize backup platforms such as Cohesity, NetBackup, Commvault, and Veeam
• Manage storage infrastructure including disk-based systems and backup storage targets
• Ensure efficient backup, restore, and disaster recovery operations
• Deliver enterprise services support, acting as a key interface between clients and internal teams
• Manage and support integrated data protection platforms and appliances
• Implement backup and storage strategies across AWS, Azure, and on-prem environments
• Monitor storage capacity, utilization, and performance, ensuring optimal resource allocation
• Handle incident management, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis for backup and storage issues
• Perform regular DR drills, backup validation, and compliance checks
• Support and manage VMware-based virtual environments with integrated backup solutions
• Drive continuous improvements in storage efficiency, data lifecycle, and retention strategies
• Maintain detailed technical documentation, SOPs, and operational reports
• Support system upgrades, patching, and security hardening initiatives

Requirements

• Strong 15+ years of hands-on experience in Data Protection & Backup Technologies such as Cohesity, Veritas NetBackup, Commvault, Veeam, Rubrik
• Strong experience in Enterprise Backup Architecture and Data Lifecycle Management
• Experience managing Enterprise Storage environments
• Good experience in Banking
• Good experience in:

1. Storage provisioning and configuration
2. Disk and backup storage management
3. Capacity planning and performance tuning

• Strong experience with storage systems integrated with backup platforms
• Hands-on experience in Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS)
• Backup and storage management in hybrid/cloud environments
• Strong working knowledge of VMware and virtualization
• Strong experience in Enterprise Service Delivery and customer-facing roles
• Strong experience with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow (SNOW), Remedy etc
• Understanding of Enterprise Ticketing and Operational Workflows
• Experience with Dell EMC storage and Data Protection Solutions
• Strongly preferred to have certification in Veritas, Rubrik, Cohesity, AWS, Azure, DELL EMC
