As the Senior Software Engineering Manager in our GrabFin Tech Family, you will strategically propel our engineering initiatives, focusing on the Financial Services. Your responsibilities will involve delivering large-scale, cross-departmental systems, driving the vision and goals for the engineering teams, and managing extensive and detailed projects with a significant impact on the bottom line, all while enhancing the stability and quality of Grab App.

Get to Know the Role

The team builds secure, versatile loan products for diverse user segments, managing important platform components like the Loan Management System, Repayments Engine, and Product Flow Orchestrator. We create distributed systems that impact millions, with a focus on underserved communities. Concepts like Idempotency, CAP theorem, and Distributed Agreement are important to the systems we develop.

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

• Oversee the development and quality of the Platform while managing and supporting a vibrant team of engineering talent.
• Be responsible for improvements in app stability and quality.
• Drive and deliver our most strategic technical projects, immersing in the scoping, managing and overall execution processes.
• Develop performance metrics for the teams and department, reporting them to peers and executives.
• Work closely with other function leaders to ensure smooth alignment of technology with internal and external customer needs.
• Implement recruiting strategies to attract and retain top mobile engineering talent. Keep raising the bar for engineering talent at Grab.
• Play a critical role in broad business planning, and work closely with peers and executives to develop business targets and resource requirements.

Qualifications

What Essential Skills You Will Need

• You have 15+ years in software engineering background, including at least 8 years in an engineering management role.
• Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics.
• Deep understanding and proven experience in mobile applications development, preferably with hands-on experience in Go.
• Proficiency in assessing the financial implications of technology decisions.
• Exceptional skills in communicating both within the organization and externally, adept at representing the company at industry events.
• You have an ongoing passion for learning new things and staying up-to-date with the latest technologies.
