Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead complex, regional data analytics projects within a banking environment. You will oversee initiatives spanning data warehousing, business intelligence, reporting automation, advanced analytics, and regulatory data solutions. You will manage cross-border programs, engage with steering committees, control budgets, drive quality assurance, and navigate diverse stakeholder landscapes across the Asia Pacific region.

Key Responsibilities

Project Lifecycle Management

  • Own end-to-end project delivery for data analytics initiatives, from business case development and requirements gathering to implementation, go-live, and post-implementation review.

  • Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success metrics aligned with regional data strategy and business outcomes.

  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, milestones, data migration schedules, and risk registers.

Regional Data Analytics Delivery

  • Lead regional data analytics projects spanning multiple countries, ensuring consistency in data governance, reporting standards, and compliance across locations.

  • Coordinate with in-country data teams, business intelligence units, and local technology leads to align regional data frameworks with local regulatory and operational requirements.

  • Manage dependencies across data ingestion, transformation, storage, visualization, and consumption workstreams.

Steering Committee & Governance

  • Prepare and present regular steering committee updates, including project status, budget utilization, risk assessments, data quality metrics, and issue escalation.

  • Facilitate steering committee meetings, secure key decisions, and drive alignment among senior executives, data officers, and business sponsors

Budget & Financial Management

  • Own project budgets, including forecasting, tracking, variance analysis, and cost control for data infrastructure, software licensing, cloud resources, and consulting services.

  • Manage CAPEX and OPEX allocations, ensuring data analytics projects are delivered within approved financial parameters.

  • Provide regular budget reports to steering committees and finance partners.

Stakeholder Management

  • Engage and influence senior stakeholders across business intelligence, data governance, technology, risk, compliance, and business units (e.g., finance, risk, marketing, treasury).

  • Act as the primary point of contact for regional data project sponsors, business leads, data vendors, and analytics partners.

  • Navigate complex organizational structures to secure buy-in, resolve conflicts, and maintain project momentum.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Finance, or a related field. MBA or PMP certification is highly preferred.

  • 10+ years of project management experience in banking or financial services, with at least 5 years managing regional data analytics or business intelligence projects.

  • Proven experience leading steering committee meetings and presenting to C-suite, Chief Data Officers, and senior executives.

  • Strong track record of managing project budgets (both CAPEX and OPEX)

  • Deep understanding of the full project lifecycle for data analytics projects, including data sourcing, ETL/ELT, data modeling, reporting, and visualization.

  • Hands-on experience with QA processes for data projects, including data validation, ETL testing, UAT coordination, and defect management.

  • Familiarity with data analytics technologies such as SQL, Python, Tableau, Power BI, Snowflake, Databricks, or similar platforms.

  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across business, technology, data governance, and risk functions.

  • Proficiency in project management tools (JIRA, MS Project, Confluence, or similar).

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to travel regionally as required.
