Assistant Project Manager $4.5K - $5.5K + VB / Construction and Engineering Field / West Area

Role summary

• Support the Project Manager in planning, organising, and coordinating from initiation through to successful delivery
• Act as a key coordination point between clients, subcontractors, site teams, and internal stakeholders across all project phases
• Maintain project documentation, monitor progress, and flag risks to keep projects on schedule and within budget
• Champion health, safety, and environmental compliance on-site and contribute to continuous improvement of project management practices

Key duties

• Assist the Project Manager in planning, organising, and coordinating all aspects of project delivery
• Monitor project progress, identify issues early, and implement timely resolutions to maintain schedule and budget
• Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders to facilitate clear communication and effective collaboration
• Prepare and maintain accurate project documentation including schedules, progress reports, and financial records
• Oversee site supervisors, tradespeople, and project team members to ensure work meets project standards and timelines
• Support implementation of and adherence to health, safety, and environmental policies across all project activities
• Recommend enhancements to project management processes as part of continuous improvement initiatives
• Manage competing priorities under pressure while maintaining high attention to detail

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field
• Minimum 3 years' proven experience in Project Management, preferably in the Energy, Offshore, or Marine Navigation Systems Sector
• Strong organisational and multitasking skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; effective across cross-functional and client-facing teams
• Proficiency in project management tools and software
• Sound knowledge of quality procedures and relevant regulations
• PMP or equivalent project management certification is an advantage
