AI Engineer (Backend Services | 12-24 months contract | GOVT)

Job Title: AI (Backend Services) Engineer
Duration: 12 - 24 months
Location: Depot Rd
Eligibility: Only Singaporean
Salary: 6000-8000 SGD

Deployment of AI products and AI-Driven Backend services

1. Develop and deploy backend API services for AI-powered functionalities that are reusable and scalable to support business use cases (e.g. OCR, document parsing, embedding model APIs)
2. Deploy and manage large-scale LLMs (e.g., LLaMA, Mistral, GPT-based models) in containerized environments using tools like Kubernetes (Redhat OCP preferred) and vLLM

AI Infrastructure Management and Day 2 Support

1. Design, manage and optimise scalable GPU/accelerator infrastructure (on-prem) for AI training and inference workloads.
2. Derive process improvements and operating model enhancements in GPU job scheduling, monitoring and observability with tools like Redhat OCP
3. Perform Day 2 support including system administration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning of the AI/ML data platform, tools and pipelines to ensure system performance and compliance to IT system policies

Security and Compliance

1. Embed security throughout the AI deployment lifecycle including model validation, image signing, runtime protection, and API security.
2. Ensure infrastructure complies with enterprise security standards
3. Collaborate with security and compliance teams to perform threat modelling and secure deployment assessments.

Requirements

1. 1) Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field
2. 5+ years in DevOps, MLOps, with 2+ years focusing on AI/ML systems.
3. 2) Strong understanding of AI/MLOps practices and tools 
4. 3) Hands-on experience deploying and optimizing LLMs or transformer-based models in production.
5. 4) Proficiency in container technologies (preferably Redhat OCP)
6. 5) Strong scripting and automation skills (Python, Bash, etc.).
7. 6) Familiarity with inference optimization techniques (quantization, batching, parallelism).
8. 7) Solid understanding of GPU infrastructure and performance tuning.
9. 8) Deep knowledge of secure software development practices and DevSecOps tooling
