Job Summary

Support data centre construction projects including retrofit, upgrades, and fitout by coordinating cross-functional teams and managing end-to-end project delivery from planning to handover, ensuring quality, safety, and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Support project managers on data centre construction programs, retrofit, upgrades, fitout, and pilot/special projects
  • Serve as the technical point of contact for local teams and liaise with Engineering and IT Operations teams
  • Manage end-to-end fitout works on site, from planning through to handover
  • Identify and resolve technical issues promptly or escalate as needed to maintain project timelines
  • Ensure all work complies with safety standards and quality workmanship requirements
  • Communicate project goals, progress, and updates clearly to stakeholders
  • Coordinate teams across multiple offices and time zones to align priorities and activities
  • Report on project milestones and maintain active stakeholder engagement
  • Facilitate kick-off meetings, progress reviews, and conduct regular site walks to monitor work
  • Resolve critical issues while adhering to project timelines and budget constraints
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of specifications, materials, and equipment approvals
  • Track and report key milestones from technical fit-out commencement to handover to Operations
  • Lead weekly management and site meetings with general contractors, architects/engineers, and telecom contractors
  • Coordinate with local construction project managers to align site management and priorities
  • Manage ordering, delivery, and storage of owner-purchased materials and parts required for data centre turn-ups
  • Review and track contractor deliverables to ensure compliance with project requirements
  • Perform inspections, surveys, and regular site walks to monitor progress and quality
  • Maintain checklists and trackers, raise punch items, and drive punch list clearance to completion
  • Oversee infrastructure areas including OSP/ISP cable pathways, building points of entry (POEs), network/telecom rooms, IDF rooms, and server floors
  • Analyze project risks and propose solutions with mitigating actions
  • Collaborate effectively with clients, contractors, and vendors to manage expectations and deliverables
  • Maintain focus on environmental sustainability and health and safety standards
  • Apply a continuous improvement mindset to enhance project processes and outcomes

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of technical experience in engineering, construction, or project/construction management
  • Post-graduate degree in engineering, construction, or project/construction management is a strong advantage
  • Proven ability to manage multiple parties, vendors, stakeholders, and competing priorities with various milestones
  • Detail-oriented and organized approach to project management
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills under high-pressure situations
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
