IT Asset Manager

Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled IT Asset Management Specialist who has hands-on experience in managing IT assets and automating processes using Python scripting. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the lifecycle of IT assets, ensuring accurate inventory tracking, compliance, and optimization, while leveraging Python to streamline workflows and enhance reporting capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the full lifecycle of IT assets including procurement, deployment, maintenance, and retirement.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date asset inventories using IT Asset Management (ITAM) tools and databases.
• Develop, maintain, and optimize Python scripts to automate asset tracking, data extraction, and reporting tasks.
• Collaborate with IT teams to integrate asset management processes with other IT operations and systems.
• Analyze asset data to identify trends, optimize asset utilization, and support budgeting and forecasting.
• Ensure compliance with licensing agreements, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
• Generate regular and ad-hoc reports on asset status, usage, and discrepancies using automated scripts.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to asset data accuracy and system integrations.
• Support audits and provide documentation related to IT asset management activities.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in IT Asset Management, including familiarity with asset lifecycle processes and ITAM tools.
• Strong proficiency in Python scripting for automation, data manipulation, and reporting.
• Experience with databases (SQL or similar) and data integration techniques.
• Knowledge of IT infrastructure components such as hardware, software, and network assets.
• Ability to analyze complex data sets and translate findings into actionable insights.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Relevant certifications in IT Asset Management (e.g., IAITAM) or Python programming are a plus.
