Accounting Manager – Finance Department

YKMJ Construction & Engineering Pte. Ltd is a reputable construction company in Singapore. Our Finance Department supports project operations by ensuring accurate financial reporting, cost control, and compliance with statutory requirements.
Job Summary
We are seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to oversee full sets of accounts, financial reporting, and budgeting for our construction projects. You will lead the finance team to ensure timely, accurate financial operations and support management decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full spectrum of accounting functions: AP, AR, GL, bank reconciliation, project costing
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements and management reports
- Oversee project accounting: WIP, progress claims, retention sums, subcontractor payments
- Monitor project budgets, cash flow, and variance analysis to ensure financial health
- Ensure compliance with SFRS, GST, IRAS, and other Singapore statutory requirements
- Liaise with auditors, tax agents, banks, and government authorities
- Review and improve internal controls, SOPs, and accounting processes
- Lead year-end audit, tax filing, and ACRA submissions
- Manage payroll, CPF, and employee expense claims
- Supervise and mentor junior accounts staff
- Support tendering and contract teams with financial data and cost analysis
Requirements
- Degree in Accountancy or Commerce, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role
- Construction/engineering industry experience is strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of Singapore Financial Reporting Standards, GST, and tax regulations
- Proficient in accounting software e.g. MYOB, Xero, QuickBooks, or construction ERP systems
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention to detail
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Able to work independently and meet tight deadlines
