Technical Support Officer (AV & Cinema)

Job Description

We are seeking a technically proficient and solutions-oriented Technical Support Officer to join our team. You will be responsible for the end-to-end technical execution of cinema screenings, live events, and hybrid programs, ensuring a seamless audio-visual experience for our audience.

Key Responsibilities

1. Event & Technical Support

• Provide technical support for internal and external events, launches, and hybrid programs.

• Set up, operate, and monitor AV equipment including projectors, microphones, audio mixers, video switchers, and basic lighting.

• Support live productions to ensure optimal audio-visual quality.

2. Projection & Screening Operations

• Operate digital and analogue projection systems (DCP, Blu-ray, media servers) for film screenings.

• Conduct content testing and formatting to ensure all media is ready for scheduled showtimes.

• Coordinate the changeover of trailers, advertisements, and feature films.

3. Maintenance & Troubleshooting

• Perform regular maintenance, calibration, and basic repairs of AV and projection equipment.

• Identify and escalate technical faults while implementing emergency troubleshooting during live sessions.

• Maintain technical logs and equipment inventories.

4. Planning & Safety

• Assist in planning technical layouts for staging, sound reinforcement, and lighting.

• Support the load-in, setup, and teardown of equipment.

Requirements

• Nitec in Electrical, Electronics, AV Technology, or a related Engineering field.

• Those with at least 2 years of experience will be considered for the Senior role

• Hands-on experience with AV setups (mixers, speakers, lighting boards) and digital cinema servers.

• AVIXA CTS certification or equivalent is advantageous
