Airfreight Operations Manager

DP World is seeking an experienced Air Freight Operations Manager to oversee and strengthen our air freight operations, ensuring smooth day-to-day execution, strong team performance, and consistent service delivery to customers. This role will lead the Air Operations team, manage operational processes and vendor relationships, and support key system and process improvement initiatives in Cargowise. The ideal candidate will bring strong air freight operations knowledge, a hands-on leadership style, and experience working across key trade lanes such as the USA, Southeast Asia, and China. Key Accountabilities • Oversee daily air freight operations to ensure shipments are managed efficiently, accurately, and in line with customer requirements. • Lead and manage the Air Operations team, ensuring effective job delegation, workload planning, and operational productivity. • Provide operational guidance and support for CargoWise system improvements • Handle customer enquiries, escalations, and service concerns related to air freight operations. • Manage relationships with vendors involved in the cargo operations process. • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency, service quality, and cost effectiveness. • Support cost-saving initiatives across air freight operations, including vendor management and workflow optimization. • Train, coach, and develop team members to improve operational capability and service standards. Qualifications • Strong experience in air freight operations, ideally within freight forwarding, logistics, or supply chain environments. • Prior experience managing or supervising an air operations team. • Proficiency in CargoWise is strongly preferred. • Experience handling USA, Southeast Asia, and China trade lanes would be an advantage. • Mandarin speaking and writing capability is preferred, particularly for communication with China-based stakeholders, partners, or customers.
