Fixed Asset Accountant (1 year contract |Up to $5K | Government Sector)

You will help keep our Fixed Assets (FA) records complete and audit-ready. This role focuses on ensuring correct fixed asset reporting, reconciling asset records, and reviewing development costs to confirm the correct capitalisation treatment.

What you’ll do

• Prepare and check period-end fixed asset reports (e.g., stock-take, DPIP, consolidated fixed asset schedule)

• Reconcile fixed assets and investigate differences (add/retire/correct transactions)

• Review development expenditure to ensure correct capitalisation treatment before assets are recorded

• Support internal stakeholders with FA guidance and ensure FA SOPs are followed

• Help with automation/process improvement initiatives using tools like Excel-based analysis

Who we are looking for

• Strong Excel skills and accurate with numbers

• Have solid accounting knowledge, especially around fixed assets / capitalisation

• Prior audit experience is an advantage

• Meticulous, analytical, and able to work independently

• Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
