About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Engineer / Assistant Manager (Technical Trainer) to manage and deliver technical training and support for mobility services operations. You will be responsible for assessing technical training needs, developing training plans, and providing hands-on troubleshooting support to improve team capability and performance.

Candidates with exposure in Public Transport Operators (PTO) environments (e.g., bus/rail operators) will be advantageous for this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure all servicing and repair activities comply with manufacturer guidelines and protocols.
  • Analyse and diagnose defective components and provide effective solutions to internal stakeholders and customers.
  • Support stakeholders in addressing customer technical queries and complaints relating to products (e.g., ICE trucks/buses and high voltage vehicles).
  • Provide technical support on special tools and workshop equipment requirements.
  • Perform hands-on fault finding, diagnosis and repair for:
  • Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) systems (including turbo charger systems, CAN bus)
  • Electric Vehicle (EV) systems (including Battery Management System, CAN bus)
  • Prepare and submit technical reports and documentation.
  • Support workshop repair and servicing operations when required.
  • Conduct in-depth technical troubleshooting using diagnostic tools and perform hands-on repairs when needed.
  • Participate in scheduled technical meetings with PTOs/LTA (for technical matters).
  • Identify training needs with stakeholders and develop structured in-house training programmes and external courses.
  • Develop and deliver technical training aligned with business objectives, including EV upskilling initiatives.
  • Monitor training KPIs (e-learning completion, training effectiveness, performance targets).

Requirements

  • Diploma / Degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or relevant discipline.
  • Strong experience in vehicle maintenance / diagnostics / technical training in automotive, commercial vehicles, bus, fleet, or mobility industries.
  • Good troubleshooting experience across ICE and/or EV systems.
  • Familiar with diagnostic tools and technical reporting.
  • Exposure to public transport operator (PTO) operations is advantageous (e.g., fleet maintenance, bus depot operations, railway maintenance environments).
  • Able to communicate effectively with stakeholders and conduct training confidently.
