Senior Mechanical Engineer / Engineering Lead (HVAC Systems / Energy & Controls)

Overview
A growing engineering-focused organisation is seeking a hands-on Senior Mechanical Engineer / Engineering Lead to drive HVAC system design, optimisation, and project delivery. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, high-impact environment with opportunities to take ownership of both technical execution and team development.

Key Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in HVAC, building services, energy systems, or facility engineering
• Strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems, including chillers, chilled water / condenser water systems, air handling units, pumps, and cooling plants
• Proven experience in HVAC retrofit projects, system upgrades, or end-to-end engineering project execution
• Experience in analysing system performance, troubleshooting operational issues, and driving energy efficiency improvements
• Exposure to mission-critical facilities (e.g. large commercial buildings, advanced manufacturing, healthcare environments) is preferred; data centre experience is an advantage
• Familiarity with building systems, BMS, or control logic (e.g. PLC, DDC)
• Experience in an ESCO (Energy Service Company) environment is a strong advantage
• Exposure to AI concepts or experience working with AI-enabled tools/systems is a plus
• Licensed Mechanical Engineer / Professional Engineer certification is an advantage
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a practical, hands-on engineering mindset
• Ability to work cross-functionally with multidisciplinary teams
