Senior Cloud Platform Specialist (Banking)

We are looking for a senior Cloud Platform Leader to own the strategy, architecture, and delivery of a modern cloud platform ecosystem. This role is responsible for building secure, scalable, and resilient cloud and platform services, with a solid emphasis on cloud-native capabilities, DevOps enablement, and hybrid container platforms. You will set engineering standards, drive modernization, and lead high-performing teams while working closely with technology and business stakeholders across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Cloud Platform Strategy & Architecture

• Own the end-to-end design, build, and lifecycle management of cloud platform services, with a focus on cloudnative and PaaS capabilities.

• Define reference architectures, platform blueprints, and modernization roadmaps to meet evolving business, technology, and regulatory needs.

• Continuously evolve the platform through automation, standardization, and adoption of cloud best practices.

DevOps, Automation & Containers

• Lead the DevOps and automation platforms, including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and delivery tooling.

• Drive the design and operation of hybrid container platforms to support diverse application workloads at scale.

• Ensure platform services enable faster delivery, higher reliability, and improved operational efficiency.

Engineering Governance & Operations

• Establish and enforce engineering standards, operational procedures, and platform runbooks.

• Ensure platform reliability through good operational practices, observability, and proactive issue management.

• Champion cost optimization and capacity planning across all platform services.

Security, Compliance & Identity

• Embed security and compliance controls into all cloud platform services, aligned with enterprise and regulatory standards.

• Lead the design and implementation of customer identity and access management capabilities to ensure secure and seamless access.

• Partner with risk, security, and governance teams to maintain a good control environment.

Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of cloud architects and engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.

• Work closely with enterprise architects, application teams, vendors, and delivery partners to ensure alignment and execution.

• Communicate platform strategy, roadmap, and delivery outcomes to senior stakeholders across regions.

Requirements

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.

• 7+ years of hands-on experience in cloud engineering or platform roles, including leadership responsibility.

• Proven experience designing and operating enterprise-scale cloud platforms in regulated or complex environments.

Cloud, DevOps & Platform Skills

• Deep expertise in at least one major cloud platform, with solid experience in cloudnative services.

• Expert-level experience building and operating CI/CD pipelines using modern DevOps toolchains.

• Solid Infrastructure-as-Code capability using tools such as Terraform or equivalent.

• Hands-on experience with container orchestration and hybrid container platforms, including cluster operations and service networking.

• Advanced automation and scripting skills using Python, Bash, or PowerShell.

Observability, Security & Networking

• Proven experience implementing enterprise observability solutions covering monitoring, logging, and tracing.

• Good understanding of cloud security principles, secrets management, and compliance frameworks relevant to regulated industries.

• Solid knowledge of cloud networking concepts including load balancing, connectivity, API management, and DNS.

Identity, Leadership & Collaboration

• Practical experience designing and operating customer identity and access management solutions.

• Good people management skills, including hiring, performance management, coaching, and team development.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across functions and regions.

• Good analytical and problem-solving abilities, particularly in complex cloud and hybrid environments.

Certifications
