Cloud Platform – Architect | Contract

About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned professional to architect, manage, and modernize our cloud and container platforms. This role combines strategic advisory, hands-on enablement, and leadership responsibilities to ensure secure, scalable, and highly-available infrastructure across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Advisory: Provide expertise on DevSecOps and cloud infrastructure best practices.
• Discovery & Planning: Assess current setups and design modernization roadmaps.
• Stakeholder Management: Present solutions and communicate business value effectively.
• Team Leadership: Mentor team members and guide cross-departmental adoption of tools.
• Hands-on Enablement: Conduct workshops to implement new tools and practices.
• CI/CD Migration: Transition pipelines from Jenkins to Azure DevOps.
• Operational Independence: Design self-sufficient operational models for departments.
• Infrastructure Assessment: Evaluate Azure infrastructure for security, cost, and performance improvements.
• Shared Assets: Develop reusable CI/CD templates and tools for organization-wide adoption.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or any equivalent
• 5 years of work experience in Azure DevOps, Terraform, Kubernetes, and cloud networking (Azure/AWS).
• Experience in Day-2 operations, observability, and secure cloud architecture.
• Ability to align technical decisions with broader business and operational goals.
• Excellent technical, analytical, and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts and provide guidance to staff.
• Proficient-to-expert scripting and automation skills, converting manual and maintenance functions into fully orchestrated automation.
• Good knowledge and experience in system-monitoring techniques and tools supporting unattended operations.
• Good system-security awareness and knowledge in OS hardening.
• Ability to operate in complex, highly-secure, and highly-available operational environments, and interact with technology domain experts required to maintain those environments.
• Partner with Platform, Engineering, and Delivery Teams to deliver seamless infrastructure support for all business units.
• Experience supporting a 24x7 operational environment, requiring shift support.
• Availability for scheduled on-call duties to support infrastructure and systems.
