Job Description

  • 1-year contract, renewable

General Requirements

  • 4 years of experience in driving impactful digital products in a government environment
  • Able to communicate well, with strong conviction in the Government’s mission and good user management skills
  • Experienced in running major projects with strong management skills
  • Able to think of the big picture while being able to deep-dive into details when required
  • Comfortable being hands-on and going onsite (e.g. project sites) if required

Responsibilities

  • Drive business outcomes by taking ownership of a product from end-to-end (problem definition to release and continuous improvement)
  • Interview stakeholders and users to understand the problem space and define problem statements
  • Craft proposals to justify resource allocation and secure funding
  • Define success measures and set up dashboards to monitor progress
  • Identify hypotheses, develop product strategy, and devise initiatives to drive product outcomes
  • Create product roadmap and work with the team to ensure timely achievement of goals
  • Work with designers and software engineers to develop, test, and release products
  • Measure outcomes and continuously iterate the product to drive improvements
  • Engage with and support users to drive product adoption

GIS / Spatial Skillsets

  • Familiarity with GIS platforms such as ArcGIS Server and PostGIS
  • Own the GIS data product roadmap, prioritizing ingestion and harmonization of geospatial data from multiple divisions, with clear governance and access models
  • Translate user needs into requirements for data pipelines, metadata, quality controls, and map-based visualization features; align stakeholders across GIS, data, and UX teams
  • Ensure deliverables support planning, analytics, and decision-making
