Job Description

[12 months contract, Renewable]

As a UX Designer, you will work with agencies and cross-functional teams to understand business needs, operational challenges, and user pain points.

You will help defi ne problems, facilitate discovery, design end-to-end experiences, validate solutions with users, and support implementation. Depending on the engagement, your work may involve designing a digital service, operational workflow, internal system, public-facing platform, or a combination of these.

You will play an active role in influencing decisions through research, design thinking, and evidence-based recommendations.

Within your first month...

● Understand the team's mission, delivery approach, and current engagements.

● Familiarise yourself with agency stakeholders, business domains, and user groups.

● Contribute to ongoing discovery and design activities.

By the end of 3 months...

● Lead or support workshops, stakeholder engagements, and requirements gathering activities.

● Map user journeys, service flows, and operational processes.

● Design and validate solutions with users and stakeholders.

● Deliver design artefacts that support product and engineering teams in implementation.

After 6 months…

● Independently lead design workstreams across one or more initiatives.

● Identify opportunities to improve service delivery, user experience, or operational efficiency.

● Drive alignment across stakeholders and contribute to strategic decision-making.

● Influence solution direction through research, insights, and design expertise.

Preferred Qualifications

● 4–6 years of experience in UX Design, Product Design, Service Design, or related disciplines.

● Experience designing end-to-end digital services, systems, or platforms.

● Experience conducting user research, usability testing, and stakeholder engagement.

● Experience facilitating workshops and requirements gathering sessions.

● Strong portfolio demonstrating problem-solving, systems thinking, and measurable outcomes.

● Experience working with government agencies or large organisations is an advantage.

● Experience leading initiatives or mentoring others is a plus.
