Senior Systems Engineer (Unix/Linux)

We are hiring a Senior Systems Engineer (Unix/Linux) to support and manage mission-critical infrastructure within a high-availability enterprise environment. This role offers the opportunity to work across complex Unix/Linux systems, ensuring stability, security, and performance across production and disaster recovery environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and support Unix/Linux systems (including Solaris and Linux) across production, DR, and test environments
• Perform system upgrades, patching, and security hardening
• Manage backups, disaster recovery (DR) planning, and regular DR testing
• Monitor system performance and carry out capacity planning and optimisation
• Provide L2/L3 support for incidents, problem resolution, and root cause analysis
• Support change, release, and configuration management processes
• Manage UAT environments and ensure system readiness for deployments
• Contribute to infrastructure improvements and project delivery
• Maintain accurate technical documentation and system records

Requirements

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in Unix/Linux system administration within enterprise environments
• Strong hands-on experience with:
• Unix (Solaris preferred) and Linux systems
• OS hardening, patching, and system upgrades
• Backup, disaster recovery, and system monitoring tools
• Experience with scripting (Bash/Shell) for automation
• Exposure to SAN/storage environments is an advantage
• Familiarity with middleware platforms and data centre operations is a plus
• Strong troubleshooting skills with experience in production support (L2/L3)
