Senior UI Designer

We are hiring on behalf of our client, a leading public sector organisation

About the Role

As a Senior UI Designer, you will lead end-to-end product design initiatives—from discovery and problem framing to final delivery. You will work within a lean, cross-functional team and play a key role in shaping intuitive, engaging, and scalable user experiences for both citizens and public officers.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead product design initiatives from discovery to delivery with minimal supervision
• Translate user needs into clear user journeys, flows, and high-quality interfaces
• Plan and conduct user research, usability testing, and evaluations, synthesising insights into actionable improvements
• Facilitate ideation and co-creation workshops with stakeholders
• Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and operations teams
• Present and confidently advocate design decisions to senior stakeholders
• Design using modern tools (e.g. Figma, Notion) and leverage AI tools to enhance productivity
• Contribute to and evolve the design system and interaction patterns
• Continuously incorporate user feedback, analytics, and qualitative insights into design iterations
• Balance engagement mechanics (e.g. gamification) with usability, inclusiveness, and public sector considerations

Requirements

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in UX/Product Design, preferably in agile or product-led environments
• Proven ability to own projects end-to-end, from problem framing to design handoff
• Strong communication skills to clearly articulate UX, UI, and interaction decisions
• Confident in stakeholder management, including presenting to senior leadership
• Strong proficiency in Figma, prototyping, and responsive design
• Experience with AI-enabled design tools (e.g. Figma AI, Galileo, etc.)
• Comfortable working in fast-paced environments with rapid iteration cycles
• Strong user empathy, curiosity, and critical thinking mindset
• Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality UI and interaction designs for production systems

Nice to Have

• Experience designing engaging, user-centric experiences using gamification principles (e.g. rewards, progression, feedback loops)
• Prior experience working on public sector or large-scale digital platforms
