DevSecOps Engineer

Our client is seeking a skilled DevSecOps Engineer to design, implement, and maintain secure and scalable infrastructure that enables efficient and reliable software delivery. This role focuses on strengthening deployment pipelines, embedding security within development workflows, and ensuring operational stability across cloud-based and enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support secure and efficient software delivery across development and production environments.
• Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) frameworks to automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management.
• Implement containerisation and orchestration solutions to support scalable and resilient application deployments.
• Collaborate with development, security, and infrastructure teams to integrate security practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Monitor system performance, reliability, and operational metrics using observability tools, and recommend improvements where necessary.
• Manage infrastructure environments across cloud and on-premise platforms, ensuring systems remain secure, stable, and optimised.
• Support release, deployment, and patching activities while ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure and deployment issues, conducting root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
• Maintain technical documentation for infrastructure architecture, deployment pipelines, and operational procedures.
• Drive continuous improvements through automation, standardisation, and adoption of DevSecOps best practices.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong understanding of DevOps principles, Agile development practices, and cloud infrastructure, preferably within AWS environments.
• Hands-on experience designing and managing CI/CD pipelines, particularly with tools such as GitLab CI/CD.
• Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code using tools such as Terraform, Terragrunt, or Ansible.
• Solid working knowledge of container technologies including Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.
• Experience managing Linux and/or Windows systems, including patching, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with enterprise technologies including JBoss, Apache, RabbitMQ, AWS, and VMware environments.
• Strong networking fundamentals covering TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, VPNs, and firewall configurations.
• Programming or scripting experience in languages such as Java, Bash, or Python.
• Experience working with observability and monitoring platforms such as Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, or Dynatrace.
• Strong analytical thinking and troubleshooting capabilities with the ability to diagnose complex technical issues.

Good to Have

• Experience in infrastructure architecture or solution design.
• Professional certifications related to AWS, Kubernetes, or cloud infrastructure.
• Experience working within large-scale enterprise IT environments.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and business teams.
