Data Scientist - AI / Machine Learning

We are hiring on behalf of our client, a reputable organisation, for a Data Scientist to develop and deploy data science and Generative AI solutions that support key business functions across investment, industry development, and corporate operations.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on impactful AI initiatives, partnering closely with stakeholders to translate business challenges into scalable, data-driven solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand priorities and identify high-impact use cases
• Design and develop solutions using Data Science and Generative AI techniques to drive measurable business outcomes
• Research and evaluate emerging AI methodologies (e.g. LLMs, Agentic AI, predictive modelling, anomaly detection, NLP, customer segmentation)
• Perform data wrangling and analysis, including preprocessing, cleaning, and feature engineering
• Support deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of AI/ML models and applications
• Develop backend APIs and services for AI model integration and deployment
• Build frontend interfaces and user experiences for AI-powered applications
• Maintain proper documentation for systems, models, and enhancements
• Identify and remediate security vulnerabilities in deployed solutions

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, Machine Learning, or related fields
• Strong understanding of AI/ML techniques for regression and classification
• Proficiency in Python and common libraries (e.g. pandas, scikit-learn, matplotlib, NLP libraries such as spaCy/NLTK)
• Understanding of LLM concepts and architectures (e.g. embeddings, context windows, tokenisation, RAG)
• Experience with prompt engineering and context optimisation techniques
• Proficient in Git and SQL
• Familiarity with Business Intelligence tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI, Qlik, MicroStrategy)

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience with modern programming languages (e.g. TypeScript, C#)
• Exposure to cloud platforms (preferably AWS)
• Experience with Docker / Kubernetes
• Full-stack development experience, including:Backend frameworks (e.g. FastAPI, Flask, Express.js)Frontend technologies (e.g. React, Vue.js, HTML/CSS, TypeScript)
• Experience with LLM frameworks (e.g. LangChain, LlamaIndex, Hugging Face Transformers)
• Knowledge of vector databases (e.g. Pinecone, FAISS, Chroma)
• Familiarity with AI agents / multi-agent systems
• Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Experience with statistical tools (e.g. R, SAS)
