Senior Middleware & Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

Role Summary

Experienced infrastructure engineers are responsible for managing enterprise middleware platforms and supporting cloud infrastructure for large-scale banking production environments. Skilled in middleware administration, cloud deployment, system troubleshooting, and infrastructure operations across hybrid environments.

Key Responsibilities - Middleware Administration

·       Administer and maintain enterprise middleware platforms including IBM WebSphere Application Server, Apache Tomcat, IBM HTTP Server, and Oracle WebLogic Server.

·       Perform installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and performance tuning of middleware environments.

·       Manage and support large-scale banking production environments hosting mission-critical enterprise applications.

·       Handle middleware deployments, configuration management, and environment setup across development, testing, and production systems.

·       Monitor middleware performance and ensure high availability, reliability, and optimal system performance.

System Configuration & Maintenance

·       Configure application servers, clusters, nodes, and JVM parameters.

·       Manage application deployments, configuration updates, and environment management.

·       Perform log tracing, monitoring, and troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve issues.

·       Maintain detailed technical documentation, configuration documentation, and operational procedures.

IBM Cognos Administration

·       Manage and maintain IBM Cognos Dispatcher services.

·       Support Cognos platform maintenance, performance tuning, and upgrades.

·       Monitor Cognos components including gateway, dispatcher, and content manager services.

Cloud Migration & Platform Upgrades

·       Support migration of middleware platforms and applications from on premises to cloud environments.

·       Assist in middleware platform upgrades and modernization initiatives.

·       Participate in planning and implementing cloud-ready middleware architecture.

Security & Compliance

·       Perform SSL certificate installation, renewal, and upgrades.

·       Apply security patches and vulnerability fixes across middleware components.

·       Implement security best practices and compliance standards.

·       Address security findings from vulnerability scans and security audits.

Monitoring, Logs & Incident Management

·       Perform log tracing, monitoring, and analysis to identify issues and system behavior.

·       Monitor system health using enterprise monitoring tools.

·       Investigate and resolve alerts, performance issues, and service disruptions.

·       Perform proactive alert resolution and incident management to minimize downtime.

Automation & Operational Efficiency

·       Develop automation scripts for regular operational tasks.

·       Automate deployments, monitoring, and routine maintenance activities.

·       Support DevOps processes and CI/CD pipelines where applicable.

Collaboration & Vendor Coordination

·       Coordinate with multiple vendors, partners, and internal teams for issue resolution, upgrades, and deployments.

·       Work closely with infrastructure, cloud, database, network, and security teams.

·       Provide support during cross-team troubleshooting and major incidents.

Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity

·       Participate in Disaster Recovery (DR) planning and execution activities.

·       Perform DR drills and failover testing to ensure application availability.

·       Support restoration and recovery procedures during DR scenarios.

Support & Operational Coverage

·       Provide weekend support and on-call support for critical environments when required.

·       Support production releases and maintenance activities during off-hours or scheduled windows.

·       Ensure smooth operations during system upgrades and maintenance activities.
