Network Perimeter Engineer

Weare seeking an experienced Network Perimeter Engineer to design, operate, andsecure our enterprise and cloud network perimeter. This role is responsible formanaging firewall, VPN, reverse proxy, and network security infrastructureacross AWS and on‑prem / hybrid environments. The ideal candidate hasstrong hands-on experience with AWS network services and leading networksecurity platforms including Palo Alto Networks, Check Point, Cisco, and F5.

Responsibilities

·       Implementand administer firewalls and security appliances e.g. Palo Alto Firewalls, VPN,and cloud-native services like AWS WAF.

·       Administerand support AWS network services, including VPCs, subnets, routing, securitygroups, NACLs, Transit Gateway, and load balancing

·       Collaboratewith cloud architects, cybersecurity teams, and DevOps engineers to designsecure and resilient cloud network topologies.

·       Troubleshootand optimize network performance using AWS CloudWatch, VPC Flow Logs,CloudTrail, and other monitoring tools.

·       Performupgrades, patching, and lifecycle management of network and security devicesduring weekend maintenance window

User Support & Operations

·       ProvideLevel 2 / Level 3 support for incidents and service requests

·       Monitornetwork performance and infrastructure health to ensure availability andoptimal operation

IT Service Management

·       UnderstandsITIL processes for Incident, Problem, Change Management

·       Createand update tickets with detailed documentation and resolution steps

·       MaintainSLAs and ensure timely ticket resolution

Documentation & Knowledge Management

·       Createand maintain technical documentation, knowledge articles, and standardoperating procedures (SOPs)

·       Maintainrunbooks for common operational tasks

Required skills and qualifications:

·       Degreein Computer Science, Computing, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, ITor related field.

·       Atleast two years of practical experience in network engineering, includingmanaging AWS or hybrid cloud networks.

·       Expertisein network segmentation, traffic filtering, and firewall policy management toenforce security.

·       Proficiencywith network architectures, optimisation and troubleshooting

·       Excellentanalytical and communication skills with the ability to work collaborativelyacross service providers and project teams.

·       Participate in 24/7 standby rotationto provide operational support

Preferred skills and qualifications:

·      Relevantcertifications (e.g. AWS Certified Advanced Networking – Specialty, AWSCertified Solutions Architect – Associate/Professional, Palo Alto NetworksCertified Next-Generation Firewall Engineer)

·       Experiencewith security and compliance frameworks relevant to government and regulatedenvironments.

·       Hands-onexperience with Infrastructure as Code and automation tools e.g. Terraform,CloudFormation and Ansible.

·       Familiaritywith Zero Trust network design principles.
