    • Maintain incident records, post-incident reports, and lessons-learned documentation.
  • Operations and maintenance

    • Perform routine maintenance tasks: firmware and OS patching, configuration backups, log reviews, and scheduled reboots as required.
    • Manage device lifecycle activities including commissioning, decommissioning, and hardware replacements.
    • Maintain accurate network documentation: topology diagrams, IP addressing plans, VLAN and routing tables, configuration baselines, and change logs.
  • Configuration and change management

    • Work with change advisory boards and follow maintenance windows to minimise business impact.
    • Validate and test changes in lab/staging environments prior to production deployment when feasible.
  • Performance, capacity and availability management

    • Monitor capacity and performance metrics; recommend upgrades or reconfigurations to meet future demand.
    • Identify single points of failure and propose redundancy/improvement plans.
    • Optimise network performance (QoS, traffic shaping, routing policies) to support critical applications.
  • Security and compliance

    • Ensure network configurations and operations follow security best practices and organisational policies.
    • Coordinate with security teams to apply network-based security controls (ACLs, segmentation, firewalls, NAC) and respond to security incidents.
    • Support audits and compliance activities by providing required artifacts and evidence

Required qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Minimally 3+ years of hands-on experience in network operations, network engineering, or a related role.
  • Professional certifications such as Cisco CCNA/CCNP, Juniper JNCIA/JNCIS, CompTIA Network+, Fortinet NSE, Palo Alto PCNSE, or equivalent.
