Job Description
Job Summary
Carry out inspection related to pipe work to ensures steel/ piping system quality by conducting inspections, monitoring fabrication and installation, verifying material compliance, and managing quality documentation against project specifications and codes for shipbuilding/ship repair and ship conversion and QA-related activity.
Key Responsibilities
• Check material certifications (mill test reports), verify material traceability, inspect welding consumables, and monitor welder qualifications.
• Conduct visual inspections of steel/ piping components, witness NDE (Non-Destructive Examination) and destructive tests, and verify welding procedure
• Liaise with the ship-owner representative and class surveyors for QA inspection.
• Maintain quality documents, including inspection and test plans (ITPs), inspection reports, material records, and final test reports.
• Check all the drawings are according to owner and class specifications.
• Proper documentation of all the drawings & calibration certificates.
• Preparation and submission of Work Done report promptly.
• As-and-when instructed by the QA Manager
Key Requirements
• 2 – 3 years of work experiences
• Familiarity with codes and standards (e.g., ASME, AWS, API), non-destructive testing (NDT) methods, welding processes, and piping inspection techniques.
• Understand in reading Steel or Piping P&ID drawings.
• Shipyard Supervisor Safety Course
• CSWIP 3.1 (Preferred)
