Telecom Cloud Engineer

Responsibilities

• Analyze and troubleshoot technical issues in 4G EPC Pack Core and 5G SA Core networks to maintain optimal network performance
• Apply hands-on expertise with Nokia Product CMM (AMF), CMG (SMF/UPF), and NRD to support core network operations
• Monitor and interpret KPIs and alarms to proactively identify and resolve network faults
• Deploy and manage Kubernetes and Cloud-Native Function (CNF) environments to ensure scalable and reliable network services
• Understand and implement routing protocols to optimize network traffic flow
• Open and track issue tickets, coordinating with support teams until resolution is achieved
• Support voice solutions including VoLTE, VoNR, and VoWiFi to ensure seamless communication services
• Prepare Method of Procedure (MOP) documents, execute acceptance tests, and support MOP implementation in production networks
• Provide 24x7 emergency standby support to address critical network incidents promptly
• Administer Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems to maintain stable infrastructure operations
• Utilize OpenStack, Kubernetes, and Red Hat OpenShift platforms to manage Telco Cloud and NFV infrastructure
• Collaborate with development teams to define capacity and performance requirements for deployment solutions
• Implement container orchestration tools such as Kubernetes and OpenShift to guarantee high availability and scalability
• Employ CI/CD tools including GitHub Actions and Octopus for software release management and build promotion within Kubernetes environments
• Manage EKS add-ons like Crossplane, Ingress Controller, Karpenter, Grafana, Kyverno, ArgoCD, Prometheus, Loki, Tempo, Fluentbit, and storage drivers to automate platform operations
• Operate VNF/CNF managers such as CBAM and NCOM for network function lifecycle management
• Conduct troubleshooting and operational support for CAAS and hardware components within telecom projects
• Apply telecom domain knowledge in 5G RAN and Core network environments to support project delivery

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Certification in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) system administration
• Experience with OpenStack infrastructure management (IAAS)
• Familiarity with Kubernetes basic concepts and telecom-specific CAAS deployments
• Knowledge of VM resource management for CN-A CAAS projects
• Exposure to telecom projects such as NCS CN-A M1 SDM/HSS and NCS CN-B M1 5G Core projects
