Job Description

We are seeking a Lead Applications Engineer to serve as a technical ambassador for Quantinuum’s quantum computing platforms within the Asian region. This is a highly technical, customer‑ and developer‑facing role focused on educating, onboarding, and enabling quantum researchers, while helping grow and strengthen the regional quantum ecosystem.

You will write deep‑dive technical knowledge articles, run onboarding sessions for new and existing users, introduce customers to Quantinuum’s software stack and hardware capabilities, and work closely with partners, researchers, and internal teams to ensure user success. Through direct engagement with users and partners, you will help convert prospective users into long‑term Quantinuum customers and advocates.

This role combines technical depth, communication, ecosystem building, and hands‑on user support, offering a unique opportunity to influence how researchers worldwide adopt and use quantum computing technologies.

What You’ll Own:

  • Technical onboarding and enablement for all new regional Quantinuum customers
  • Authoring and maintaining deep‑dive quantum computing knowledge articles
  • Regional user education strategy and ecosystem growth initiatives
  • Trusted technical relationships with key partners, users, and institutions
  • Identification and improvement of gaps in hardware and technical documentation
  • Ongoing technical support and guidance for quantum computing users

Key Responsibilities:

  • Write in‑depth, technical knowledge articles covering quantum algorithms, software workflows, and hardware capabilities
  • Run onboarding sessions for new users, introducing them to Quantinuum’s quantum software stack and hardware features
  • Provide hands‑on technical support to users, responding to customer support requests as needed
  • Identify gaps in existing hardware and technical documentation and own improvements end‑to‑end
  • Work cross‑functionally with internal engineering, product, documentation, and support teams to resolve user issues and improve user experience
  • Build and grow the regional quantum ecosystem by engaging with researchers, partners, and institutions
  • Partner with key regional stakeholders to help convert prospective users into active Quantinuum customers
  • Attend and represent Quantinuum at key regional quantum computing conferences and events
  • Support and help deliver external user workshops and training sessions
  • Educate internal teams on regional user needs, feedback, and emerging trends
  • Develop concise, data driven summaries of user behavior and emerging trends based on customer interactions, feedback, and support ticket analysis.
  • Produce competitive intelligence reports by synthesizing insights within the investor and technology ecosystem

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree or higher in a computational or technical field (e.g., Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics)
  • 7+ years experience in the quantum computing field, including algorithms, hardware, or quantum software
  • Hands‑on experience using Python for scientific or technical computing
  • Experience working with quantum developer frameworks (e.g., SDKs, simulators, or quantum programming libraries)
  • Ability to communicate complex technical topics clearly to both expert and non‑expert audiences
  • Experience supporting users, customers, or research collaborators in a technical environment
  • Experience writing technical documentation, tutorials, or knowledge articles
  • Direct experience onboarding or training users on complex technical platforms
  • Familiarity with Quantinuum hardware architecture and problem design considerations
  • Experience working cross‑functionally across engineering, product, and external partners
  • Strong presentation skills and comfort speaking at workshops or conferences
  • A proactive, user‑focused mindset and passion for enabling researcher success
