Technical Lead/Manager – Full-Stack Development (React & Node.js) | KL, Malaysia

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Full-Stack Development Lead / Manager to lead a high-performing team building and scaling modern web applications. This is a player-coach role, combining hands-on technical contribution with leadership responsibilities.

You will guide architecture decisions, mentor engineers and drive delivery of scalable, high-quality products while collaborating closely with Product, Design, and business stakeholders.

Technical Leadership

• Architect scalable, maintainable full-stack applications using React / Next.js, Node.js, and TypeScript

• Lead design and implementation of complex features, APIs, and microservices

• Drive technical strategy, performance optimization, security, and DevOps practices

• Conduct code reviews and enforce engineering best practices (clean code, SOLID, TDD/BDD)

• Reduce technical debt and improve system reliability

Team Leadership & People Management

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of 6–12 engineers

• Support hiring, onboarding, performance reviews, and career development

• Foster collaboration, ownership, and continuous improvement

• Facilitate Agile ceremonies and remove delivery blockers

Delivery & Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Translate business requirements into technical roadmaps and execution plans

• Own end-to-end feature delivery from planning to production deployment

• Ensure system performance, availability, and observability

• Drive adoption of CI/CD, automated testing, and cloud best practices

Hands-On Contribution

• Develop production-quality code in React and Node.js

• Design REST/GraphQL APIs and scalable backend services

• Prototype solutions and resolve complex technical challenges

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software development experience

• 4–5+ years in full-stack JavaScript/TypeScript development

• 3+ years in a technical leadership or engineering management role

• Strong expertise in:

  • Frontend: React, Next.js, TypeScript, modern state management, responsive UI

  • Backend: Node.js, Express/NestJS, REST/GraphQL APIs, authentication (JWT/OAuth)

  • Databases such as PostgreSQL or MongoDB

• Experience designing scalable distributed or microservices architectures

• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), Docker, and CI/CD pipelines

• Strong Agile/Scrum delivery experience

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
