Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Cloud & Hybrid Network Architecture

  • Design and own cloud-native network architectures across Azure, AWS or GCP, including VNet design, routing, segmentation, and inter-region connectivity.
  • Architect hybrid connectivity between cloud, colocation, exchanges, and offices using Direct Connect / ExpressRoute / Cloud Interconnect SD-WAN, and secure VPNs.
  • Define reference architectures for multi-account / multi-subscription environments with strong isolation and scalability.

Performance, Resilience & Reliability

  • Design for high availability, fault tolerance, and deterministic performance, including multi-region, active-active, and failover architectures.
  • Optimize cloud network performance for latency-sensitive workloads, balancing cost, throughput, and reliability.
  • Own capacity planning, traffic engineering, and network performance monitoring across cloud and hybrid environments.

Implementation & Automation

  • Lead hands-on implementation of cloud networking solutions using infrastructure-as-code (e.g. Terraform, Bicep, CloudFormation).
  • Drive network automation and standardization, reducing manual configuration and operational risk.
  • Integrate network telemetry and observability into monitoring platforms for proactive issue detection.

Security-by-Design

  • Embed zero-trust and least-privilege principles into cloud network designs, including segmentation, private connectivity, and secure service exposure.
  • Partner closely with cybersecurity teams to implement secure access patterns, egress controls, and DDoS protections.
  • Ensure cloud network architectures meet regulatory, audit, and internal risk management requirements.

Trading & Business Enablement

  • Collaborate with trading, quant, and application teams to translate business and performance requirements into scalable cloud network designs.
  • Support secure and reliable connectivity to market data providers, brokers, and external services from cloud platforms.

Governance & Leadership

  • Own cloud network standards, architecture diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Act as the technical authority for cloud networking decisions and vendor evaluations.
  • Mentor engineers and influence best practices across infrastructure and platform teams.

Required Experience & Skills

Cloud Networking Expertise

  • 8–12+ years of experience in network engineering and architecture, with strong recent focus on cloud and hybrid networking.
  • Deep hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider (Azure, AWS or GCP), including:
  • - VPC/VNet design and routing
  • - Private connectivity (Direct Connect / ExpressRoute
  • - Load balancing, NAT, and cloud firewalls
  • Strong understanding of hybrid and multi-cloud connectivity patterns.

Technical Depth

  • Solid grounding in routing, switching, and network fundamentals (BGP, dynamic routing, redundancy).
  • Experience designing highly available, multi-region architectures.
  • Familiarity with network automation, IaC, and CI/CD pipelines.

Soft Skills

  • Ability to communicate complex cloud network designs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-change environment with strong ownership.
  • Pragmatic mindset—able to balance performance, security, cost, and operability.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting trading or latency-sensitive workloads in cloud environments.
  • Exposure to service mesh, private PaaS networking, or container networking.
  • Certifications such as Azure Network Engineer, AWS Advanced Networking, CCIE/JNCIE are advantageous.
