Job Description
Roles and responsibilities
- To lead and manage a team of designers and cad operators.
- To lead team to develop construction drawing include concrete body plan, including architecture shop drawing in accordance to contract requirements.
- To review and comment on various shop drawings and technical documents based on the consultant and main contractor design drawings and specification and submit them for main contractor’s approval in line with baseline programme.
- To communicate with construction team and give necessary support for site issues related to technical design matters to them.
- To monitor status of shop drawings, RFIs, technical documents and highlight any delays to the main contractor with reasons for the delay timely manner.
- Carry out design coordination and interface with project consultants and sub-contractors for shop drawing preparation.
- Prepare and submit shop drawings and technical documents for Consultants and Main Contractors approval in line with baseline programme.
- Ensure that the technical team comply with the code of practice and regulations as well as contract requirement.
- Provide technical support to other teams.
- Oversee the progress of the shop drawing work and technical submission.
- Highlight any delays including causes to technical manager timely manner.
- Attend external stakeholders meetings include progress meeting, technical meeting, pre consultation with authority, subcontractor and specialist meeting pertaining technical matter, internal coordination meeting.
- Organize meeting with Authority and consultant to resolve compliance and technical matter.
- Resolve technical issues and site conflicts include submit RFI, RFA and technical proposal for ease of construction.
Requirements:
- Minimum Diploma or Degree in Civil, Structural, Building, or Construction Management.
- Experience with Aluminium, Cladding or Roofing preferred.
- Can demonstrate good leadership qualities and people management capabilities.
- Good understanding of procurement, engineering and construction activities.
- Good written and interpersonal skills.
- Good presentation skills to stakeholders.
- Positive working attitude and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to multitask and work under pressure and tight schedule.
