System Analyst/ Business Analyst (Data & Analytics)

Job Summary

As an augmented resource in the Enterprise Knowledge Department, you play an important role in transforming works with structured and unstructured data. You will be part of a dynamic team responsible for developing, enhancing and maintaining IT systems/applications that support data management needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the business requirements and functional solution aspects of the project.
• Analyse the stakeholders’ needs, scope the problem and develop business case to address the problem.
• Document requirements, source and evaluate alternatives, and recommend solution that best fits the stakeholders’ needs.
• Work with the stakeholders to ensure smooth deployment and adoption of new solution.
• Perform business analysis:

1. Business Analysis Planning and Monitoring: Identify stakeholders, techniques and processes to manage, track and trace requirements.
2. Enterprise Analysis: Refine and clarify business need, define solution scope and develop business case.
3. Elicitation: Explore, identify and document business needs
4. Requirements Analysis: Assess current state, analyse stated requirements of stakeholders and elaborate to sufficient detail that accurately defines business need within specified scope.
5. Solution Assessment and Validation: Source and evaluate alternatives to identify solution that best fits business need, identify gaps, and determine workarounds/changes to the solution.
6. Assess deployed solutions to see how well they met the original need.

• Develop and establish quality assurance deliverables and testing framework, including create and maintain test plans and test cases in accordance with changing requirements, throughout development.
• Create and manage automated test framework whenever possible, such as prepare test environment, maintain functional testing script in accordance with changing requirements.
• Conduct system integration tests with external parties, validate the output and expected outcome e.g. data to and from external parties’ systems and feedback on improvement requirement.
• Conduct impact analysis of defect fixes discovered during manual or automated tests, validate completed stories pass the acceptance criteria, raising defects as needed and work with development team to improve the expected behaviour and test cases.
• Manage conflicts, issues and changes to ensure stakeholders and project team remain in agreement on solution scope, communicate and manage expectations of stakeholders.
• Prepare end user documentation (training manual, user manual, business process flows) on the operation or maintenance of technical systems.
• Assists with the documentation of technical design, specification, and technical solution.
• Maintains document repositories used by project teams and assists with project documentation as needed.
  

What we are looking for

• Business Analysis certification (Certification of Competency in Business Analysis™ (CCBA®), Certified Business Analysis Professional™ (CBAP®)) or an equivalent certification will be an added advantage.
• Hands-on experience in full project development life cycles
• Past track record in business analysis, application solutioning and design
• Ability to model business requirements in business process modelling tool.
• Ability to perform qualitative, quantitative and root-cause analysis.
• Ability to facilitate discussions/workshops to elicit, manage and prioritise key business needs.
• Ability to take a broad, strategic perspective as well as drill deep to understand business needs and challenges.
• Goor appreciation of SQL, data modelling and data analysis.
• Good understanding of analytics and data warehouse implementations.
• Knowledge in one of the following areas will be added advantage, Agile Methodology, Business Process Reengineering, Customer Relationship Management, Data Analytics, ERP, Knowledge Management
• Knowledge of design thinking and workshop facilitation will be an added advantage.
