about the job

Our client is looking for a Senior Java Backend Engineer to take a lead role in building high-performance systems from the ground up. This is not a "maintenance" role; you will be involved in the full development lifecycle, from architectural design to deployment.

You will be expected to provide technical direction and solve complex engineering problems for enterprise-level applications. Key responsibilities include:

• Architecture & Development: Designing and building scalable APIs and microservice-based architectures.

• System Optimization: Tuning messaging systems (RabbitMQ/ActiveMQ) for high throughput and reliability.

• Engineering Standards: Driving CI/CD best practices and ensuring system performance through rigorous testing and optimization.

• Technical Ownership: Managing the end-to-end delivery of features within an Agile environment.

skills and experience required

• Min 3 years experience in Java and the Spring ecosystem (Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Spring MVC).
• Mandarin speaking required as you need to liaise with Chinese counterparts who can only speak and write in Mandarin
• A solid track record with REST/SOAP APIs and system integrations.
• Experience with databases like Oracle/MySQL and caching tools like Redis.
• Proficiency with development tools such as Git, Jenkins, JIRA, and JUnit.
• A strong understanding of Agile methodologies.
• Bonus: Exposure to frontend technologies (HTML5, CSS, JS frameworks).
